8. General principles of Prisoner Classification
 
  Article 39-General principles of prisoner classification  
39.1 General principles of prisoner classification  
  By this code, all prisoners are classified as either T1, T2, or T3 type prisoners according to the total custodial sentence they must serve.  
  Furthermore, prisoners shall be classified as being eligible for one or more types of residency at a correctional facility as determined by the articles of this code in relation to:  
  (a) the type of offences for which they have been convicted; and  
  (b) their good behaviour since being in custody, in particular any display of violence and/or continued criminal behaviour; and  
  (c) the recommendations of any psychological assessment that does not contravene the conditions and articles of this code.
